Jim Derbyshire

Jim Derbyshire is a seasoned entrepreneur and advisor with extensive experience in technology commercialization and startup development. As Chair at Ionomr Innovations Inc. since 2017, Jim has led efforts to commercialize groundbreaking research in ion exchange membrane and polymer technology. Jim also advises Singulos Research Inc. on visual search technology and serves as Entrepreneur in Residence at VentureLabs, an accelerator for high-growth ventures. As a Mentor in Residence at Simon Fraser University, Jim has played a pivotal role in fostering entrepreneurship through the Venture Connection program. Additionally, Jim has held various advisory positions, including CEO of Invionics Software Inc. and co-founder of Invionics Inc., contributing to advancements in software development and electronic design automation. Jim's educational background includes a BSc (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Kingston University.
