Laurie Williams

Laurie Williams serves as the Associate Director of Programs & Services in Alumni Relations at Simon Fraser University since September 2013, previously holding positions as Manager and in Community Engagement within the Faculty of Education. Prior to this role, Laurie operated as the Principal of Laurie Williams Consulting from 2010 to 2013, providing facilitation, training, and coaching services to various organizations, including VANOC and the YWCA. In addition, Laurie was a Board Member of the BC Career Development Association from 2006 to 2013, contributing to the development of a provincial certification for career development practitioners. Other notable roles include Workplace Trainer at Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters and Manager of Career Transition Services at FutureWorks Vancouver, along with extensive experience at the YWCA of Vancouver. Laurie's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Geography/Communication from Simon Fraser University and certification as a Career Development Practitioner from Douglas College, complemented by training in psychometrics.
