Alex Kirts has been working in the design and photography industry since 2004. Alex began their career at HAROLDS PHOTO CENTERS, INC as a Studio Photographer, Lab Technician, and Sales Associate, where they acquired skills in studio photography, studio lighting, photo printing, packaging, and sales. In 2007, they took on a Graphic Design Intern role at KG2 Productions / Freedom Energy, where they built an online catalog of digital images, designs, and web graphics. The same year, they also worked part-time as a Graphic Designer at Volante Newspaper, where they designed layouts, met deadlines, created graphics, and packaged for print. In 2010, they worked at Mlinn Studios as a Graphic Designer and Photo Editor, where they were responsible for retouching, lighting adjustments, background transfers, and any other basic editing. In 2011, they worked at Risney Photo & Design as a Graphic Designer and Assistant Photographer, where they were responsible for developing print material such as brochures, calendars and photo books from scratch, as well as being a photo editor. In 2012, they took on a Visual Designer (Graphic / Motion) role at Omaha Video Solutions. Finally, from 2014 onwards, they have been working at Simple Booth as a Sr. Designer and Lead Designer. In this role, they are responsible for designing all the app UI, web UI, print materials and taking the lead on creating custom user features to round out the UI/UX of their product. Alex is also involved in the evolution of the packaging and branding of their physical product HALO.
Alex Kirts attended Dakota Valley High School from 2000 to 2004 and earned a General Education degree. Afterwards, they attended the University of South Dakota from 2004 to 2010 and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Graphic Design.
