Jeff Bryner

Jeff Bryner currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer at SimplePractice, a position held since September 2025. In addition, Jeff Bryner provides vCISO services since March 2020, focusing on strategy, risk management, and incident response. Jeff Bryner has been an instructor at the SANS Institute since January 2003, teaching courses such as GCIH and CISSP. Previous roles include Chief Information Security Officer at apree health, where responsibilities involved protecting data within healthcare systems, and CISO at Vacasa, where Jeff Bryner established the information security function. As Director of Enterprise Information Security at Mozilla from August 2013 to May 2019, Jeff Bryner oversaw various security functions including threat management and application security. Earlier experience includes positions at Portland General Electric, Jeff Bryner Consulting, and Protection One. Jeff Bryner holds a BS in Management Science from Virginia Tech, where education was completed from 1985 to 1989.
