Thomas Groechel

Thomas Groechel is a skilled software developer with significant experience in robotics and augmented reality. Currently employed at Simplex Trading LLC since August 2023, Thomas previously held positions at iRobot as a Robotics Software Engineer PhD Temp/Intern and a Robotics Software Engineer Intern, focusing on ROS 2 development and behavior-based control in C++. At the University of Southern California, Thomas served as a Ph.D. Researcher and Software Developer, leading research projects in socially assistive robotics and mentoring numerous students, resulting in multiple publications and awards. Earlier roles include research positions in SLAM algorithms and experience as an instructional aide at the University of Michigan.
