Dean Wetherby

Dean Wetherby is an experienced technology leader specializing in artificial intelligence and computer vision. Currently serving as Cloud AI Technical Lead at SimpliSafe since March 2022, Dean oversees the development of a scalable AI inference engine and enhances operational efficiency through an automated annotation tool. Previously, as the AIR Technical Lead, Dean refined AI Engine projects and mentored interns. With a decade-long tenure at Next Century Corporation, Dean filled roles from Staff Computer Vision Engineer to Chief Scientist, successfully managing DoD and DARPA projects and contributing to multimillion-dollar contract proposals. Earlier experience includes impactful positions at PIXIA Corp, SET, the US Department of Homeland Security, and the United States Air Force. Dean holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Colorado State University and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Vermont.
