Shekhar Sastry is an accomplished Machine Learning Engineer and Team Lead at SimpliSafe since September 2020, where leadership in developing AI-based video analytics tools significantly contributed to the successful launch of camera products and a substantial increase in subscriber base. Prior experience includes serving as a Principal Software Engineer at Cognex Corporation from September 2011 to September 2020, specializing in high-speed vision algorithms and securing two patents for innovative barcode decoding methods. Earlier, as a Research Assistant at Stony Brook University's Computer Vision Lab from January 2008 to October 2011, Shekhar focused on computational complexities in image formation processes. Academic achievements include a PhD in Computer Engineering from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from Visvesvaraya Technological University.
