Michael Rupert

Michael Rupert has a diverse work experience, starting in 1987 as an English Teacher at Centro Colombo Americano and later at Colegio Americano de Quito until 1991. Michael then worked as a Research Assistant/Graduate Research Assistant/Post Graduate Researcher at UC Davis from 1991 to 1995, managing an alfalfa breeding program. From 1996 to 1998, they worked as a Post Grad Researcher at UC Davis, conducting pomology field research. Michael then joined Holden's Foundation Seeds, LLC Monsanto in 1998 as a Production Researcher, managing the pre-foundation program for genetically modified corn. In 2003, they joined Dupont Pioneer as a Senior Agronomist, overseeing corn Parent Seed field activities. Michael later became the Agronomy Research Manager, leading agronomy research projects and developing business unit agronomic strategies. From 2012 to 2016, Michael worked at Dupont as a Sustainability Manager and Six Sigma Black Belt. After that, they joined Wilbur-Ellis as the Western Crop Research Manager from 2016 to 2018, and then as the National Director Research and Development from 2018 to 2023. Currently, Michael holds the position of Director of Agronomic Sciences at J.R. Simplot Company, starting in 2023.

Michael Rupert attended Petaluma High school, but no specific dates were provided. Michael later attended the University of Birmingham, however, the duration of their studies is unknown. Michael then pursued their undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Teaching Credential. Michael continued their education at the same university and obtained a Master's degree in Agronomy, specializing in Genetics and Plant Breeding. Additionally, Michael obtained certifications such as the CCA Certified Crop Advisor from the American Society of Agronomy in December 2017, and the QAL Qualified Applicator Lic from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation in December 2018.
