Tom Ireland

Tom Ireland is a Senior Research Agronomist at J.R. Simplot Company since February 2016, leading product development teams in conducting agronomic and storage trials while maintaining collaborations with university faculty in various agricultural disciplines. Ireland is responsible for creating strategies for new potato varieties and effectively communicates research results to diverse audiences. Prior experience includes serving as a Global Production Improvement Technologist at Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds, where responsibilities involved directing production protocols worldwide and enhancing seed yield and quality. Earlier roles include Research Associate at Syngenta, focused on trial management and support for product launches, and Development Agronomist at Garst Seed Co, coordinating hybrid performance trials and providing agronomic guidance. Ireland holds both a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Plant Sciences from the University of Idaho.
