Amaia Calvo-Fernández

Amaia Calvo-Fernández has a diverse range of work experience spanning various roles and industries.

In 2004, they began working as a Consultant at User Lab, the first Usability Laboratory in Spain, where they provided consultancy services for organizations applying user-centered design methodologies. Amaia later became the Director at User Lab in 2005 and held this position until 2007.

From 2005 to 2008, Amaia worked as a Teacher at La Salle BCN, teaching both at the grade and master levels.

In 2007, they joined the Catalan Tourist Board/Agència Catalana de Turisme as the New Projects Manager. Amaia then transitioned to the role of Online Promotion Manager from 2011 to 2012.

Amaia joined eDreams ODIGEO in 2012 and held several positions, including Program Manager from 2012 to 2014, Product Manager for Ancillary products from 2014 to 2018, and Senior Product Manager for the eDreams Prime Subscription Program from 2018 to 2020. During their time at eDreams ODIGEO, they played a significant role in building and expanding the eDreams Prime subscription program.

In 2020, Amaia became the Senior Product Manager at Domestika, a creative online learning community. In this role, they were responsible for building the learning experience across desktop and mobile platforms for over 1.5 million users.

Starting in 2013, Amaia also worked as a Lecturer at the Postgraduate Degree in Innovation and Design Thinking at Bau, Centre Universitari de Disseny. Amaia'srole involved teaching service design and mentoring students' projects.

In 2019, they became a Co-Founder and Teacher at The Product Monster, a Product Management school. In addition to teaching, they were also involved in decision-making around the school's growth and promotion, program development, and student support.

Most recently, Amaia became the Product Lead at Simplr.io, a Life-as-a-Service marketplace that aims to help people and organizations transition to a more accessible and less wasteful economy.

Amaia Calvo-Fernández completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Deusto from 1999 to 2003, majoring in Humanities and Communication. Amaia then pursued a Master's degree in E-learning at the Universitat Ramon Llull, graduating in 2004. Amaia further expanded their academic pursuits by enrolling in PhD courses in Information and Communication Technologies at the Universitat Ramon Llull in 2006 and completing them in 2007. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Management 3.0 Fundamentals from Management 3.0 in December 2020.
