Val Cummins

Val Cummins PhD is an accomplished leader in marine governance and renewable energy, currently serving as Chief Impact Officer and Portfolio Director at Simply Blue Group since March 2022. With extensive experience in project management, Cummins has led the Emerald and Western Star Floating Offshore Wind projects in collaboration with EDF, positioning Simply Blue as a pioneer in the blue economy. Previous roles include Project Managing Director for joint ventures with Shell and key positions at the Coastal Atlas of Ireland and Future Earth Coasts. An academic background features a PhD in Public Participation and Sustainability Science, alongside senior lectureships and principal investigator roles in significant research initiatives. Val Cummins is also a founding co-editor of the Coastal Atlas of Ireland and possesses a diploma in Corporate Governance.
