Mike Mercer

Mike Mercer is a Senior Associate in the Employment Law team at Simpson Grierson, Wellington, since September 2017. Prior to this role, Mike served as a Legal Advisor on secondment at the Ministry of Education of New Zealand, providing specialist payroll advice for remediation programs. Mike's experience also includes working as a Solicitor at Burges Salmon LLP in dispute resolution with a focus on health and safety law. As a Regular Force Legal Officer with the New Zealand Defence Force, Mike advised on various legal issues and participated in operational deployments. Mike’s early career includes service as a Reserve Force Infantry Officer, commissioned while studying law and history at the University of Otago, where Mike earned an LLB and BA.
