Alyssa Theodore has a wide range of work experience, beginning in 2007 as an Assistant Fisheries Technician at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA). In 2009, they became a PhD Candidate and Teaching Assistant in the Antimicrobial Discovery Center at Northeastern University, while also serving as an instructor for General Microbiology, Genetics and Molecular Biology, and Biochemistry undergraduate laboratory courses. In 2013, they became an Adjunct Professor at the College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University, designing courses, preparing tests and lab practicals, and preparing laboratory experiments. In 2015, they became a Scientist and Postdoctoral Fellow at Quidel, working on improving the speed of helicase dependent amplification (HDA) to use in in vitro diagnostic assays. In 2017, they became a Medical Content and Scientific Writer at Insyght Interactive, Inc. and in 2020, they became VP, Scientific Services at SIMPSON Healthcare, followed by Scientific Director and Associate Scientific Director roles.
Alyssa Theodore obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Microbiology from Northeastern University, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the same university, which they completed in 2010.
