Donna Thomas has worked in a variety of scientific and medical roles since 2001. Donna began their career as a Scientific Programmer/Analyst at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center before transitioning to an Oceanographer/Scientific Analyst at GeoEye in 2005. In 2010, they became a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens. From 2014 to 2016, they served as an Inpatient Pharmacy Intern at Nationwide Children's Hospital and then as a Staff Pharmacist, Graduate Pharmacy Intern, and Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health. In 2021, they were a Scientific Editor: Medicine and Life Sciences at Cactus Communications. Currently, they are a Scientific Editor (remote) and Senior Scientific Editor at SIMPSON Healthcare and a Scientific/Medical Editor at Charlesworth Author Services. In their roles, Donna has edited complex scientific/medical/pharmaceutical documents, manuscripts, slide decks, and articles for clarity, grammar, spelling, formatting, and punctuation while adhering to applicable regulatory and client guidelines. Donna has also performed quality checks to ensure accuracy of near-final documentation and provided support to project teams.

Donna Thomas has an extensive education history. Donna obtained their PharmD from The Ohio State University in the College of Pharmacy between 2013 and 2017. Donna then obtained their M.S. from The University of Southern Mississippi in Marine Science between 1998 and 2000. Prior to that, they obtained their B.S. from Brown University in Geology/Biology between 1994 and 1998. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including Stanford University's Writing in the Sciences (with Honors) from Coursera in June 2021, Essential Skills Certificate from the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) in April 2019, and BCMAS from the Accreditation Council for Medical Affairs (ACMA) in October 2018.
