Harlene Katzman

Harlene Katzman is the Chief Pro Bono Counsel at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, a position held since October 2008, where management of the pro bono program across the firm's global offices is a primary responsibility. Prior to this role, Katzman served as Dean of the Center for Public Interest Law at Columbia Law School from January 2000 to September 2008. Additionally, experience includes working as an attorney at Steel Bellman Ritz & Clark, focusing on civil rights, employment, and housing discrimination from 1997 to 2000, and as a law clerk in the Staff Attorney's Office of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2d Circuit from 1995 to 1997. Katzman holds a Juris Doctor from the City University of New York School of Law (1995) and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley (1990).
