Gregory Velez

Gregory Velez has extensive work experience in financial risk assessment and mitigation, credit and collections monitoring, and operational strategy. Gregory has held various leadership roles, including Vice President of Global Trade Finance and Risk at Sims Metal Management Limited, where they provided key strategy and direction for revenue growth and risk management. Gregory also served as Vice President of Global Financial Credit & Documentary Management, overseeing operational improvement projects and forging banking partner relationships. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Operations, championing operational strategy and analyzing credit trends. Earlier in their career, Gregory worked at Hugo Neu Corporation as a Letter of Credit Specialist and Assistant Vice President. Gregory began their career at BNY Mellon as a Letter of Credit & Government-Financed Transactions Specialist, partnering with U.S. government programs.

Gregory Velez holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting and Finance from The City University of New York. Gregory also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Certified International Credit Professional from FCIB.
