Nickolas Forsch

Research Engineer at Simula Research Laboratory

Nickolas Forsch is a Research Engineer at Simula Research Laboratory since September 2020 and co-founder and Advisory Board Member at HealthLink at UC San Diego since June 2016. Previously, Forsch was a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, San Diego from August 2014 to July 2020, focusing on cardiac remodeling and mechanics in adults with congenital heart defects, utilizing statistical and mechanistic computational modeling. In earlier roles, Forsch served as Project Manager at Sling Health, where an anxiety management tool was developed, and as a uSTAR Research Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis, studying mechanical forces in chicken embryo brain development. Additional experience includes a Visiting Undergraduate Researcher position at Stanford University and an internship at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Forsch holds a Ph.D. in Bioengineering with a specialization in Multi-Scale Biology from UC San Diego and a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.
