Director Of Youth And Family Engagement at Sinai Temple

Atara Rush has a range of work experience in various educational settings. Atara currently holds the role of Director of Youth and Family Engagement at Sinai Temple, a position they started in July 2022. Prior to this, Atara worked at ChildLife, where they held multiple roles from 2018 to 2022, including Workshop Director and Facilitator, Curriculum Developer, and Parent Educator.

Before their time at ChildLife, Atara worked at Temple Isaiah as a Master Lead Teacher from August 2017 to June 2020. In this role, they designed a dual curriculum focused on individual child needs, implemented individualized and group goals, and worked closely with parents to support their child's development both at school and at home. Atara also served as a Mentor Teacher at Temple Isaiah from August 2016 to June 2020.

At Brawerman Elementary, Atara worked as a Religious School Teacher and Curriculum Developer from August 2015 to June 2018. Atara taught 4th grade Religious school, created a progressive and inclusive curriculum, and taught Hebrew reading and writing.

Prior to that, Atara worked as a Lead Preschool Teacher at Wilshire Boulevard Temple from August 2014 to June 2017, and as a Preschool Teacher at Temple Isaiah from August 2010 to June 2014. Atara also served as an After School Care Teacher at Pressman Academy from September 2008 to June 2010.

Atara Rush obtained a Master of Education - MAEd degree in Early Childhood Development and Education from American Jewish University between 2018 and 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Touro University from 2012 to 2014. In 2011, they completed a Certificate of Completion in the Early Childhood Education Department from Santa Monica College.
