Ronald Mercer has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Ronald is currently employed as a Regional Recruiter at Sinceri Senior Living since June 2022. Prior to this, Ronald served as an Aircraft Armament Specialist in the Air National Guard from October 2008 to the present.
From 2013 to 2022, Ronald worked at Western Oregon University, where they held various positions. Ronald started as a Recorder from September 2013 to March 2016. Ronald then transitioned to the role of Veterans Certifying Official & Compliance Coordinator from March 2016 to April 2017. Finally, they served as an Academic Success Advisor from April 2017 to June 2022.
Ronald's early career involved public service roles. Ronald served as a City Council member for the City of Adair Village from January 2011 to October 2014. Prior to that, they worked in community development for the same city from October 2008 to August 2010. Additionally, they gained experience as an Assistant Planner and Community Development professional at Resource Assistance for Rural Environments (RARE), University of Oregon, from October 2008 to August 2010.
Before their career in education and public service, Ronald began their professional journey as an Aircraft Armament Specialist at the Air National Guard 110th Fighter Wing from August 2002 to September 2008.
Ronald Mercer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning; Geographical Informational Systems from Eastern Michigan University, which they attended from 2002 to 2007. Ronald is currently pursuing a Master of Education (MEd) in Information Technology at Western Oregon University, with an expected completion date in 2023.
