Jim Dumler

Jim Dumler has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Jim has held the position of Executive Consultant and Board Director at The Sinclair Group, Capture Ventures since 2017, where they provided consulting services and served as a board director for various companies. Prior to this, they served as a Board Member at FJ Management from 2013 to 2018, fulfilling a six-year term and serving on committees such as Audit and Compensation. From 2008 to 2016, they worked as the SVP of Strategy & Business Development at CenterPoint Energy Corporation, where they oversaw various initiatives such as credit profile improvement, midstream strategy, and M&A/MLP developments. Before that, they were the Managing Partner at Carney-Dumler Partners from 2007 to 2008, where they pursued growth stage investments and provided financial and operations consulting. From 2003 to 2007, they served as the Sr. Managing Director at Republic Financial Corporation, where they led portfolio company governance, executive leadership, and investment origination. Jim also held the position of CFO at The Broe Companies in 2001 and served in various senior management roles at Koch Industries, Inc from 1989 to 2001. Jim began their career as an Engineer at GE Plastics (Borg-Warner Chemicals) from 1984 to 1988. Jim Dumler has an extensive education history. Jim obtained an MBA with highest honors (Fuqua Scholar) from Duke University's The Fuqua School of Business, specializing in Finance, Strategy, and Marketing from 1987 to 1989. Prior to that, they completed their BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis between 1983 and 1984. Jim also holds a BA in Chemistry from Colorado College, which they earned from 1978 to 1982.

In addition to their formal education, Jim also acquired several certifications throughout their career. Jim obtained a certification in Developing Executive Presence from LinkedIn in April 2018. In December 2014, they became a NACD Leadership Fellow through the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). Furthermore, Jim obtained a Series-3 Certification from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission in March 2006.
