Dr. Amanda Wood has been an educator for 18 years, although her passion for learning spans her entire lifetime. Wood has taught elementary and middle school students as both a classroom teacher and learning support specialist. She arrived in Singapore in 2000 and spent 10 years in middle school before moving to elementary school. Wood has also served as the WASC coordinator during the 2013-14 self-study and accreditation process.
Wood holds a bachelor of education from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, a master of arts degree in education leadership from Michigan State University and a doctorate in education from the University of Southern California. She is a certified trainer in the principles of Understanding by Design (Wiggins and McTighe) as well as a Strengths Communicator (StrengthsFinder).
Originally from Vancouver Island, Wood and her husband Simon, now call Singapore home.
