Kenneth Ong serves as the Director of the Centre for Professional Communication at the Singapore Institute of Technology since February 2019 and has also been an Assistant Professor of Professional Communication there, teaching applied linguistics to BSc speech and language therapy undergraduates. Kenneth previously held the role of Deputy Director at the Centre for Communication Skills, now known as the Centre for Professional Communication. With extensive experience spanning over two decades, Kenneth has worked at various academic institutions, including the University of the Free State as a Research Fellow and Nanyang Technological University as a Senior Lecturer in Language and Communication, where roles also included Assistant Chair of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Kenneth’s teaching experience includes positions at numerous institutions, with a focus on language and communication, and has a strong academic background, holding a Doctor of Philosophy in Education (Applied Linguistics) from the University of Auckland and multiple degrees from Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
