Stephen Welton CBE is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in investment banking and economic development. Currently serving as Strategic Adviser at Singer Capital Markets since January 2024, Chair of the British Business Bank since October 2023, and Non Executive Director at Intermediate Capital Group since September 2017, Stephen has significantly contributed to various sectors. Stephen is also the Founder and Chair of Trustees of the BGF Foundation, and previously served as Chairman of BGF until June 2023, an organization established to enhance equity investment for growth companies in the UK and Ireland. Additional roles include membership on the Prime Minister's Build Back Better Business Council, Innovate UK Council, and participation in the Patient Capital Review. Stephen holds a BA Hons Dunelm in Law from Durham University and a Barrister-at-Law qualification from the Inns of Court School of Law.
