Deepthi Sandaruwan

Deepthi Sandaruwan has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Deepthi started their career at KPMG, where they worked as a Supervisor in the audit department from April 2011 to April 2014. In this role, they conducted industry analysis, supervised audit teams, reviewed working papers, and prepared management reports.

Following their time at KPMG, Deepthi joined Tuffline Limited as an Assistant Accountant from April 2015 to November 2016. Here, they prepared financial year-end accounts, conducted variance analysis, reviewed production entries, managed tax compliance, liaised with auditors, and prepared ad hoc reports.

Deepthi then moved to Samson International PLC, where they served as the Head of Finance from December 2016 to December 2017. In this role, they oversaw financial, accounting, planning, and IT functions, developed financial plans and budgets, ensured compliance with accounting standards, managed working capital, provided critical financial information to the board, and participated in board and audit committee meetings.

Most recently, Deepthi has been working at Singer Finance, initially joining as an Accountant in January 2018 and subsequently being promoted to Manager of Financial Reporting and Process Development from December 2020 to June 2023. In this role, they were responsible for meeting financial reporting deadlines, finalizing financial statements, and preparing quarterly and annual reports. Deepthi is currently serving as the Assistant General Manager of Finance, a position they assumed in April 2023.

Deepthi Sandaruwan has a strong educational background in accounting and finance. Deepthi obtained their Associate Member degree in Accounting and Finance from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, where they studied from 2008 to 2013. During this time, they also pursued Chartered Accountancy, further strengthening their expertise in the field. Deepthi later attended the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, where they specialized in Accounting and Finance and earned a B.Sc. degree. In 2021, they further enhanced their knowledge by obtaining an ACMA degree in Management Accounting from the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka.
