Monica Ibargoyen

Monica Ibargoyen has extensive work experience in the finance and banking industry. Monica is currently serving as the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer at Singular Bank's Asset Management SGIIC division since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Compliance Officer at Singular Bank from June 2021 to October 2022.

Before joining Singular Bank, Monica worked at Quintet Private Bank as a Compliance and Risk Officer from October 2019 to June 2021. Their responsibilities included investment compliance monitoring, internal and regulatory risk reporting, and AML and Client Investment Protection monitoring.

Monica also has experience working at The Bank of Spain. Monica worked as a Financial Accountant from May 2017 to October 2019, where they were involved in the estimation of the Spanish portfolio investment, data cleaning tasks, and collaboration with IT projects for data management and operational risk mitigation. Prior to this role, they worked as a Financial Accountant from November 2009 to October 2016 and held various positions such as Foreign Currency Operations in the Controlling Department, Central Operations in Euros in the Controlling Department, and Middle Office at the Investment Management Division in the Market Operations Department. Their responsibilities included analysis of financial instruments, control of operations with foreign financial institutions, evaluation and control of financial risks, monitoring eligibility of collateral for Eurosystem monetary policy operations, and analysis and summaries of relevant legal documentation.

Monica also gained experience as a Back Office Assistant at Interdin Stockbroker plc for a brief period in 2009 and as a Custody and Depositary at UBS Wealth Management from July 2008 to March 2009. Their responsibilities at UBS included monthly revision of financial statements of Collective Investment Institutions, monitoring compliance with investment policy, and value control and portfolio reconciliation.

Monica Ibargoyen attended Genius Course in 2016, where they studied memory techniques and quick reading. From 2004 to 2009, they pursued a degree in Business Administration at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, with a focus on Finance. In 2007-2008, Monica also studied International Finance at European Business School-London.
