Shuang Zhou has a diverse work experience spanning from 2006 to 2022. Shuang began their career as a Summer Intern at the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention in 2006. Shuang then pursued their Ph.D. at North Dakota State University, where they worked as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant from 2010 to 2015. During this time, they focused on the mechanistic study of small molecule cancer stem cell inhibitors and the evaluation of traditional Chinese medicinal drugs for cancer treatment. Shuang Zhou also worked on the identification of novel treatments for Alzheimer's disease and explored the roles of signaling pathways in cancer.
After completing their Ph.D., Shuang Zhou worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Baylor Scott & White Health from 2016 to 2017. Here, they continued their research on small molecule cancer stem cell inhibitors and evaluated novel biomarkers for cancer diagnosis. Shuang then joined Harvard Medical School as a Postdoctoral Fellow from 2017 to 2018, where they focused on modulating PDGFR signaling and protein translation initiation in Glioblastoma.
From 2017 to 2019, Shuang Zhou worked as a Research Fellow at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where they worked on the mechanistic study of PDGFR signaling and protein translation initiation in Glioblastoma. Shuang also established primary cell cultures and performed various molecular biological techniques.
In 2018, Shuang Zhou became a Guest Editor at the Journal of Oncology, where they focused on the topic of resistance to immunotherapy in cancer treatment. Shuang also served as a Guest Editor for Frontiers in Pharmacology in 2018, where they concentrated on evidence-based advance and management of adverse events of immunotherapy for cancer.
In 2019, Shuang Zhou joined Filtricine, Inc. as a Scientist II and later became a Senior Scientist II. Their responsibilities included the performance and optimization of various molecular biological techniques.
Most recently, Shuang Zhou has been with Sino Biological, Inc. since 2021. Shuang started as a Product Manager and currently holds the position of Head of the Product Department.
Shuang Zhou began their education by obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutics from China Pharmaceutical University, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. Shuang then pursued further studies at North Dakota State University, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmaceutical Sciences between 2010 and 2015. Following this, Shuang Zhou undertook a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Oncology and Cancer Biology at Harvard University from 2017 to 2018.
