Erica Iorio has a diverse work experience primarily in the finance and accounting sector. Erica started their career as an ITRA Intern at Ernst & Young in 2009. Erica then worked as an Assurance Senior at Ernst & Young from 2011 to 2016, where they gained experience in performing audits, assessing risk, and evaluating internal controls.
In 2016, Erica joined Editas Medicine as a Manager of Accounting, reporting to the VP of Finance. Erica was responsible for areas such as SEC Reporting and Compliance, Technical Accounting, Sarbanes-Oxley, General Ledger Close, and ERP Implementation. Erica later served as the Senior Manager of Finance, Associate Director of Accounting, and Director of Corporate Controller at Editas Medicine. In these roles, they oversaw various finance and accounting functions, managed a team, and played a key role in alliance and collaboration agreements.
Most recently, Erica joined Sionna Therapeutics in 2022 as the Senior Director of Corporate Controller. Details of their responsibilities in this role are not provided.
Erica Iorio attended Portsmouth High School from 2002 to 2006. After completing high school, they enrolled at Bentley University where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Audit and Control, with a focus on Computer Information Systems. Their undergraduate studies took place from 2006 to 2010. Following the completion of their bachelor's degree, Erica Iorio furthered their education at the University of Rhode Island from 2010 to 2011, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in Accounting.
In addition to their academic achievements, Erica Iorio obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification in October 2011 from the MA Board of Public Accountancy.
