Diedrik Vermeulen

Diedrik Vermeulen has been working in the field of engineering since 2008. Diedrik started their career as a Product Development Engineer at Starchip in 2008. In 2010, they took on a Research role at Caliopa and an R&D role at DAS Photonics. In 2012, they became a Principal Silicon Photonics designer at Acacia Communications Inc. Diedrik then moved on to become a Research Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2015. In 2016, they took on the role of Director of Engineering at Analog Photonics. Most recently, in 2020, they became the Co-founder and CEO of SiPhox Inc.

Diedrik Vermeulen's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD from Ghent University in Photonics from 2008 to 2012, a Master in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics from Ghent University from 2006 to 2008, a Master in Theoretical Physics from Ghent University from 2004 to 2006, and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Ghent University from 2002 to 2004.
