Sarat Chandra Gundavarapu

Principal photonics scientist at SiPhox

Sarat Chandra Gundavarapu has worked in a variety of roles since 2007. Starting at Broadridge as a Member Technical, they moved on to Packet Photonics, Inc. in 2013, where they were an Optical Chip Test Intern responsible for DC/RF characterization of fast tunable, chip scale, InP lasers and modulators. Sarat Chandra also developed automated tests for wafer and die level characterization of devices, using Python, VB GUI design/scripting, and GPIB interfacing. In 2014, they became a Staff Research Associate and Graduate Student Researcher at UC Santa Barbara. In 2019, they moved to Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital as a Research Fellow, and in 2020 they joined SiPhox Inc. as a Principal Photonics Scientist and Photonics Consultant.

Sarat Chandra Gundavarapu obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Photonics from UC Santa Barbara between 2014 and 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Electronics and Photonics Engineering from the same university between 2011 and 2013. Sarat Chandra also holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communications from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, which they obtained between 2003 and 2007.
