Joel Paulson is an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University, and Co-Founder of SirenOpt. Joel's research focuses on developing theory and algorithms for control and fault diagnosis under uncertainty, as well as using machine learning and advanced control methods for plasma etch processes. Prior to their current positions, Joel worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, and completed their PhD and Master's degree in Chemical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Joel also holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Joel has previous internship experience at BP and Corning Incorporated as a Technical Consultant.
