Kip Oberting

Kernan V. (“Kip”) Oberting is President & Chief Executive Officer of Sirius International Insurance Group (“Sirius Group”). Mr. Oberting served as President of Sirius Group since September 2018 and Chief Financial Officer of Sirius Group since April 2016.

Kip has a range of leadership experience in insurance and financial services business. Kip served in strategic and M&A roles at White Mountains Insurance Group from 1995-2004, and 2012-2016; at Montpelier Re as its Chief Financial Officer from 2004-2008; and as founder of Oakum Bay Capital from 2008-2012. Across these roles, Kip has led various operational, strategic and M&A initiatives and has been recognized as an early innovator in the establishment of sidecars and alternative capital vehicles supporting insurance and investment risk.
