Joe Thistel is a seasoned media executive with extensive experience in programming, marketing, and production within the broadcasting industry. As Director of Talk Programming at SiriusXM Canada since May 2011, Joe Thistel has successfully managed the SXM NHL Network Radio and oversees the daily operations of SiriusXM Canada's talk and comedy channels. Previously, as the first programming employee at XM Satellite Radio Canada, Joe Thistel played a pivotal role in developing Canadian-produced channels and building a programming team. Joe Thistel's early career includes founding Joe Thistel Productions, consulting for prominent clients, and various key roles in national radio networks, where significant marketing strategies and programming initiatives were executed. Joe Thistel's career spans decades, beginning with early contributions to the Telemedia Sports Network and culminating in a comprehensive understanding of sports and talk radio. Joe Thistel holds an education from Centennial College.
