Mechanical Design Engineer at SiriusXT

Síofra Ní Lochlainn started working as a Mechanical Design Engineer at SiriusXT in September 2021. In this role, they were responsible for designing parts and assemblies using SolidWorks, with precision up to 0.01 mm, for a vacuum environment and some cryogenic conditions. Síofra also led the redesign of a vacuum chamber based on user needs.

Prior to this, Síofra worked at Crowther Lab | ETH Zurich. From March 2020 to August 2020, they served as an Intern, where they promoted the lab's work to reforestation practitioners and developed tools to assist them. Síofra utilized QGIS and Google Earth Engine to assess reforestation sites and created performance metrics and customer management tools for an outreach project. Additionally, in September 2020, they worked as an Outreach Consultant for the lab.

Before joining Crowther Lab, Síofra was an Intern at Bühler Group from March 2020 to August 2020.

Síofra Ní Lochlainn attended Trinity College Dublin from 2016 to 2021, where they pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, in 2019 they had a one-year study abroad experience at RWTH Aachen University, though it is not specified whether they completed a degree or field of study during their time there.
