Marek Offord CNIDP

Head of Passive Plan and Design at SIRO Ireland

Marek Offord CNIDP has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years in the telecommunications industry. Marek started their career at BT Ireland in 2001 as a Corporate Customer Care Agent, handling fault reporting, account administration, billing queries, and customer notifications. Marek then progressed to the role of Senior Network Controller, where they monitored core networks and performed SDH build checks for new circuits. In 2006, Marek became a Network Optimisation Engineer, specializing as a Certified Fibre Characterization Engineer.

In 2015, Marek joined SIRO as a FTTH Senior Passive Optical Design Engineer, responsible for designing and optimizing fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks. Marek then took on the role of FTTH Passive Design Team Lead, overseeing a team of engineers in ensuring the efficient design and planning of FTTH infrastructure. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Passive Plan and Design at SIRO, where they lead the passive plan and design department.

Throughout their career, Marek Offord CNIDP has developed strong expertise in passive optical design, network optimization, and customer care in the telecommunications industry.

Marek Offord CNIDP has an education history that includes a degree in Biological Techniques from TAFE NSW, which was completed in 1994. Prior to that, Marek attended Lisarow High School from 1988 to 1993 and obtained a Higher School Certificate. In terms of additional certifications, Marek has obtained a CONA (Certified Optical Network Associate) certification from Optical Technology Training Ltd. in April 2013. Most recently, in April 2021, Marek obtained the Certified Network Infrastructure Design Professional (CNIDP) certification from CNet Training.
