Mark McNeela

Mark McNeela has over 21 years of work experience in the telecommunications industry. Mark is currently working at SIRO as the Head of Active Plan & Design since February 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Team Lead - Active Network Design from May 2020 to February 2021 and as the Principal Network Engineer - Plan & Design from September 2017 to May 2020. Mark also worked as a Senior Network Engineer - Operations at SIRO from July 2015 to September 2017.

Before joining SIRO, Mark worked at enet (Open Access Networks) as a Senior Network Engineer from May 2010 to July 2015. Mark also gained experience at BT Ireland as a Network Assurance Engineer from February 2008 to May 2010, and at O2 Ireland as a Principal Transmission Operations Engineer from November 2007 to February 2008 and as a Senior Transmission Operations Engineer from July 2004 to November 2007.

Earlier in their career, Mark worked at Cable & Wireless Communications as a Network Planning Engineer from February 2002 to July 2004. Mark also served as a Telecoms Contractor at Altran Technologies Ireland from June 2001 to January 2002 and worked as a Design Field Support Engineer at Nortel Networks Northern Ireland from August 1999 to May 2001.

Mark McNeela holds a Certificate in Network Infrastructure with Security from the Technology University of the Shannon, Athlone Campus, which they obtained from 2020 to 2021. Prior to this, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Queen's University Belfast, completing it between 1995 and 1999. Additionally, Mark has attained the Alcatel-Lucent Network Routing Specialist I (NRS I) certification, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
