Marketing And Communications Director at Siskin Children's Institute

Shannon York has over 19 years of experience in marketing and communications. They began their career as a production artist at the Chattanooga Times Free Press in 2002 and then worked as a graphic designer for major accounts from 2005 to 2007. They then moved on to Five-05 Marketing as a senior graphic designer before returning to the Chattanooga Times Free Press as a marketing design/brand manager. Shannon later became the creative services director/brand manager at the Chattanooga Times Free Press, where they led a team of designers and oversaw advertising production and design. In 2015, Shannon joined the Siskin Children's Institute as the marketing and communications manager and later became the marketing and communications director. They collaborated with staff and community partners to expand access to care for children with disabilities and implemented various marketing strategies to generate awareness and support for the institute's programs.

Shannon York obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Fine/Studio Arts and Graphic Design from Berry College, where they studied from 1999 to 2002. In 2000, they also had the opportunity to study abroad at Istituto Lorenzo de' Medici, focusing on Fine Arts, Art History, and Graphic Design.

Founded in 1950 by Mose and Garrison Siskin in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Siskin Children's Institute achieves its mission through, pediatric healthcare services, education, home & community-based programs, and outreach services Education Our Siskin Early Learning Center provides a high quality preschool education to young children with and without disabilities, including children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, chromosomal abnormality and brain injury. Health Care The Siskin Center for Developmental Pediatrics is a regional developmental pediatric center, led by a team of developmental pediatricians, with services available in Chattanooga and Nashville, TN. Children are referred to the Institute for medical, psychological and cognitive assessment, diagnosis and treatment, including, occupational, speech and language, applied behavior analysis, and other therapies as well as counseling and social skills groups. Home Visiting The Siskin Home & Community-Based Early Intervention program is designed to help parents, other caregivers and children with special needs gain the knowledge and confidence they need to be successful in life. Through visits with a developmental therapist, the family receives information, support, guidance and consultation about improving the child’s and family’s quality of life.
