Betsy McCright is a Massachusetts native who relocated to Chattanooga 16 years ago. She has worked in the subsidized housing industry for 27 years, having served as the Deputy Director of the Worcester, Massachusetts Housing Authority and the Executive Director of the Springfield, Massachusetts Housing Authority.

She has served as the Executive Director of the Chattanooga Housing Authority since December 2008. She is part owner and principal of McCright & Associates, a Chattanooga-based business that provides consulting services to housing authorities nationwide.

Betsy has been involved in numerous community activities, including serving on the Urban League, Women’s Fund of Greater Chattanooga, Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute, the Food Bank, Homeless Coalition, and the Grateful Gobler Run/Walk.

Betsy is a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts and Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. She is a member of the Tennessee and Massachusetts Bars. Betsy is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served as a Commander in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Betsy enjoys bicycling, foreign languages and world travel.
