Robert Burnell has a diverse work experience in law enforcement and dog training. Robert worked as a police officer for NYPD from 1992 to 2002, where they were the top graduate. Following that, they served as a police officer in South Florida starting in 2002. In 2007, they became the owner and head trainer at Sit Means Sit Dog Training in Palm Beach. Robert is a certified dog trainer and a certified master instructor with Pet Tech Int.

Robert Burnell's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration & Management from Hofstra University. Prior to that, they attended West Babylon High School. In terms of additional certifications, Robert holds a K-9 Caring Angels Therapy Dog Certified Evaluator certification obtained in November 2018, an AKC Certified CGC Instructor & Evaluator certification obtained in January 2016, a Master Instructor Pet First Aid & CPR certificate from Pet Tech Int. obtained in June 2010, a certification from the No Limitations School of Remote Training obtained in March 2007, and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer certification from the Animal Behavior College obtained in February 2006.
