George Miley has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. George started their career as a Sr. Project Manager at EVCO Eliseo Vargas Constructora from 1998 to 2001. George then moved on to Orange Business Services, where they served as the Head of Global Contract Management from 2002 to 2009. In this role, they managed a large global outsourcing contract valued at $7.0B.
Following that, Miley joined Sutel - Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones as President and Chairman of the Board from 2009 to 2012. Here, they built the institution from the ground up and led various regulatory initiatives in Costa Rica's telecommunications sector.
From 2012 onwards, Miley joined SITA, where they held several positions of increasing responsibility. George started as the Commercial Director, Americas, responsible for financial architecture and contract negotiations with airlines and governments. Subsequently, they served as the Regional Director for Latin America Business Development and Commercial Director Americas, overseeing revenue generation initiatives and leading business development efforts in the region. Currently, Miley holds the position of Vice President at SITA, leading an organization that produces air industry solutions and generates over $300M in yearly revenues. George manages a team of 50+ employees who design, engineer, price, propose, and contract IT solutions to airlines, airports, and governments across the Americas.
George Miley obtained a Master in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Corporate Finance & Strategy from Emory University - Goizueta Business School, where they studied from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that, they obtained a Licenciado in Civil Engineering from Universidad de Costa Rica UCR, where they studied from 1993 to 1998. In 1998, George Miley also obtained a Civil Engineer License from Colegio Federado de Ingenieros y de Arquitectos de Costa Rica.
