Amit Singhal is the founder of Sitare University, established in September 2022, aimed at providing scholarships to underprivileged students for studying Computer Science. Singhal also founded Sitare Foundation in March 2016, focusing on the education of bright underprivileged students in India to combat poverty. Previously, Singhal served as Senior Vice President of Search at Google from November 2000 to February 2016, contributing significantly to Google Search. Earlier in their career, Singhal worked as a Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Labs from September 1996 to October 2000. Amit Singhal holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cornell University, a Master’s Degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and a Bachelor’s Degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
