VP Operations & Team Development at Sixthman

Sarah Rio has a diverse and extensive work experience in the cruise industry and theater. Sarah started their career in 1987 as a Wardrobe Manager & Actor's Personal Assistant at Chichester Festival Theater. Sarah then worked at Norwegian Cruise Line in various roles, including Concierge and Director of Hotel Operations, where they managed relationships with charter companies, developed onboard operational strategies, and implemented new initiatives and programs. In 2015, they joined Sixthman as a Senior Director of Operations, overseeing event production, merchandise, and overall event execution. Sarah later took on additional responsibilities as VP of Operations & Marketing and VP of Operations & Team Development, focusing on process improvement and team training. Currently, they are working at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. as VP of Operations Charters, Meetings & Incentives. Throughout their career, Sarah has consistently demonstrated their ability to provide outstanding guest-centric service and deliver exceptional experiences.

Sarah Rio attended Rockhurst University Continuing Education from 2008 to 2010, where they studied Management & Leadership, Project Management, Team Building & Communication, and Financial Statements. Prior to that, they attended Holy Cross College from 1982 to 1984, where they studied English, Economics, and Textiles. In addition to their formal education, Sarah also obtained certifications as a QMS Internal Auditor for ISO 9001:2008 from Det Norske Veritas in November 2010 and as a Human Services Response & Care Team Trainer from Aviem International Inc in December 2008.
