Ian Rust

Ian Rust has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Ian is currently the Founder and CEO of Sixwheel, a position they have held since December 2020. Prior to this, they served as an Advisor at Covariant starting from March 2019. In 2020, they worked at Root Ventures, where they played a role in building something new until December of the same year.

Ian's earlier experiences include being a Founding Engineer at Cruise Automation from March 2014 to March 2018. Before that, they worked as a Hardware Automation Engineer at X, the moonshot factory, from May 2013 to March 2014. Ian also gained valuable experience as an Automation Engineer at Amazon Lab126 from June 2012 to May 2013.

During their time at MIT, Ian served as a Graduate Student from June 2010 to September 2012. Before that, they worked as a Robotics Intern at Vecna Technologies in the summer of 2009. In addition, Ian also worked as a Robotics Researcher at MIT from January 2009 to May 2009.

Ian's earliest work experience was as a Systems Engineering Intern at Boeing in the summer of 2008.

Ian Rust completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2006 to 2010. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and finished the program in 2011.
