Guðmundur Örn Gunnarsson

Guðmundur Örn Gunnarsson,born January 6, 1963, home in Garðabær. Guðmundur was first elected to the Sjóvár board on March 12, 2020, and since April 28, 2021, he has been chairman of the board of the subsidiary Sjóvá-Almennra líftrygginga hf. Guðmundur studied actuarial mathematics and computer science at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. Guðmundur worked for 23 years at the Insurance Center, including as the head of the information department and in charge of the computer department, he was the manager of the operations department and the manager of business development. He was the CEO of Vátryggingafélag Íslands hf. (VÍS) and Líftryggingafélag Íslands (Lífís) 2008-2011. From 2011-2013, Guðmundur performed various consulting tasks, mainly in the preparation of business plans and strategic planning in the field of innovation. From 2014-2022 he was the manager of CAE Icelandair Flight Training ehf. which owns and operates flight simulators in Icelandair's training center. Guðmundur has extensive experience in board positions both as a general board member and as board chairman. Today he is the chairman of the board at Vinnslustoðinin hf. and board member at BL ehf. and CAE Icelandair Flight Training ehf.

Guðmundur is independent of the company, the day-to-day managers and the company's major shareholders.
