Michael Leiter

Michael Leiter is a distinguished legal and national security expert currently serving as a Partner and Head of the CFIUS, National Security, and International Trade Group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates since September 2017. In addition to this role, Michael chairs the Board of Trustees at the RAND Corporation, where involvement dates back to 2011, and has held various leadership positions including Vice Chair. Michael has contributed to national security discussions as a member of the Homeland Security Experts Group at MITRE and previously as Chair of the Advisory Council for Business Executives for National Security. Michael's past positions include Senior National Security & Cybersecurity Analyst at NBC News and President of Leidos Defense, highlighting extensive experience in defense and security sectors. Educational qualifications comprise a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in History from Columbia University.
