Martin B Knudsen has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Martin B began their career as a student at The Danish Federation of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, where they performed financial ratio estimates and was responsible for quarterly economic forecasts. Martin B then worked at Håndværksrådet, continuing their financial analysis work and performing ad-hoc analyses.

After that, Martin joined the Danish Research Institute for Economic Analysis and Modelling (DREAM) as Head of Section, where they participated in building a macroeconomic simulation model and became responsible for modeling the public consumption side. Martin B also developed work relations with ministries and institutions to accurately model new policy measures.

Martin then worked as a self-employed consultant for DREAM and later joined Konjunkturinstitutet as a Macroeconomic Researcher, focusing on forecasting real economic growth and contributing to EU policy formation.

Martin B subsequently joined SKAT as a Chief Advisor and later became a Chief Analyst, leading a team of analysts in developing tax gap estimates and optimizing audit selection.

In parallel with their role at SKAT, Martin also worked with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as a Revenue Advisor and Technical Assistance Advisor, providing guidance and delivering technical assistance to revenue bodies in multiple countries.

Currently, Martin is working as a Chief Analyst at Skattestyrelsen (The Danish Tax Agency), where they are responsible for forming and coordinating strategy and analysis, as well as playing a central role in the organization's transformation towards a data-driven tax administration.

Martin B Knudsen received their Master's degree in Economics from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, from 1989 to 1997. In 2004 and 2005, they pursued further studies in programming, data base handling, and web design, focusing on PHP, Java, and HTML, through one-semester university courses at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
