Evan Powell

Evan Powell is a technology entrepreneur with extensive experience in leadership roles across various companies in the tech and cybersecurity sectors. Currently serving as Founding CEO of Skidaway since November 2023, Evan is focused on applying deep learning to cybersecurity. Previously, Evan co-founded the OpenData Community in January 2023 and served as a steward and contributor at Gitcoin from June 2022 to March 2024. As CEO and Chairman of MayaData from December 2017 to October 2021, Evan played a pivotal role in creating the cloud-native storage category and establishing key projects within the CNCF. Other significant positions include Founding CEO roles at StackStorm and Nexenta Systems, where foundational contributions were made to open storage and software-defined storage. With an educational background that includes a postgraduate specialization in AI and Deep Learning from Stanford, an MBA from IESE Business School, and a BA in Political Economy from Williams College, Evan combines technical acumen with strategic insight in technology development and market positioning.
