Derek Cairns

Derek Cairns is an experienced professional in the field of skills development and enterprise support, currently serving as the Growth and Inward Investment Manager at Skills Development Scotland since July 2009. Derek has held various roles within the organization, including Employer Services Manager and Skills Investment Advisor, focusing on enhancing support for employers in Scotland's competitive marketplace. Prior to this, Derek worked at Highlands and Islands Enterprise, overseeing quality assurance for training programs, and held several management positions at DWP (JobcentrePlus), leading teams and managing projects aimed at assisting unemployed individuals. Derek holds a Foundation Level Diploma in Neuro Linguistic Programming, a Level 5 Diploma in Management from the Chartered Management Institute, and an HNC in Business Administration from Inverness College.
