Claire Horner-Devine is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies within various sectors, including academia and philanthropy. As the Founder and Managing Member of Counterspace Consulting since 2016, Claire has focused on helping organizations translate visions of excellence into actionable practices through evidence-based approaches. In addition, Claire co-founded the Broadening Representation of Academic Investigators in NeuroScience (BRAINS) and the Launching Academics on the Tenure-Track: An Intentional Community in Engineering (LATTICE) to enhance diversity in these fields. Previous roles include serving as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Partner at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Director of Diversity and Leadership Development at the University of Washington. Claire holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Stanford University, along with additional qualifications from Princeton University and the African American Policy Forum.
