Matthew Tran has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries. Matthew co-founded Skip in 2017, where they led a team to successfully launch a scooter-sharing fleet in the US. Matthew was responsible for various tasks such as go-to-market strategy, acquiring scooters, setting up maintenance operations, and modifying the fleet. Matthew also designed, built models, and tested future operations and products. Prior to Skip, Matthew co-founded Boosted, Inc. in 2011, where they served as the CMO. Matthew played a vital role in producing a highly successful Kickstarter campaign and designing the company's website. Before their entrepreneurial ventures, Matthew worked as a Controls/Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin from 2006 to 2011. Matthew also gained research experience as a Research Assistant at the Gravity Probe B Satellite, a Coop at NASA, and a Student Researcher at the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics. Furthermore, Matthew held internships at Hawker Beechcraft and through the NSF Undergraduate Research Fellowship in Composites.

Matthew Tran has a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Matthew also completed a Diploma Course in Aerodynamics at the von Karman Institute. Additionally, they have a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Wichita State University. Matthew Tran obtained their high school diploma from Phillips Exeter Academy.
