John Shuman, P.E. has extensive experience in electrical engineering and operations management. Currently serving as Engineer V in Distribution System Operations at FirstEnergy, John leads engineering support for the electrical distribution system and advanced distribution management systems, focusing on power flow management and emerging technologies. Additionally, John is a Visiting Professor at The University of Akron, teaching various electrical engineering courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Prior to this, John held engineering roles at General Electric and participated in multiple leadership and quality initiatives. John holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Business Leadership.
